In 2017 the five northerly synods of Mersey, North Western, Scotland, Northern and Yorkshire set up a listening and reconciliation service with the twin aims of helping others to navigate difficult conversations well and to better respond to conflict that arises within the church. Trained facilitators are equipped to mediate effectively in the context of the URC.
The service is now looking to take on further facilitators – could you be one? The attached flyer gives full details of our next basic training course covering three modules, the first two of which will be delivered online in November and January. The third module will take place residentially at Wydale Hall from 9-12 March 2021.
While the course is entirely FREE to all participants – including all accommodation and travel costs associated with the Wydale module – those signing up are expected to commit to every session. Acceptance on to the team of trained facilitators will also depend on completion of a course learning journal and participating in the assessed role plays satisfactorily.
Places are limited so if you’re interested, or would like further information, please email Mel Campbell, Northern synod clerk, by Tuesday 6th October at email@example.com.
Once all names have been submitted, a doodle poll will be set up to find the most suitable dates for both modules 1 and 2.
